Almost 3 out of 4 people who attempt suicide have visited their primary care doctor in the month before their attempt, but it’s only recently that clinicians have started to receive training to screen for suicide risk among their patients. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and the American Health Podcast is marking this important time with a series of podcasts focusing on research and evidence-based practices around suicide prevention.
